Bruno Amezcua

Previsualization Supervisor/ Film and Arts Industry

Bruno Amezcua's journey into visual arts and filmmaking began under the influence of his grandfather, a renowned film editor whose career flourished from the 1950s to the 1970s. Growing up surrounded by discussions of film production and editing, he developed a profound appreciation for storytelling and the fine arts. This early exposure crafted a strong foundation for his aspirations, leading him to pursue an education in arts, which eventually spanned over 15 fruitful years in various artistic projects.

His academic path was carefully charted through prestigious institutions that furthered his artistic vision. He first honed his craft at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts. His quest for a deeper understanding of classical artbook him to the Museo Gregorio Prieto in Ciudad Real, Spain, a museum renowned for its extensive collection of works by prominent artists, including Picasso. The insights gained there profoundly shaped his artistic sensibilities.

Later, he moved to Canada to attend Ontario's Centennial College of Fine Arts and Technology. His academic excellence there earned him a scholarship for Outstanding International Student, and he graduated with the highest honors in 2008. These formative educational experiences equipped him with a diverse skill set in CG camera and photography, staging, storyboarding, classic illustration, and artistic drawing.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional ability in creating detailed, evocative visuals that enhance storytelling in film and television. His contributions have been pivotal in projects such as "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" (2011), "Next Gen," and" Maya and the Three," where his role often involved previsualization and the development of visual storylines that resonate with audiences globally.

He has collaborated extensively with major studios, including Blue Sky, Disney, Marvel, Netflix, and Amazon, showcasing his versatility and leadership in various capacities. His role as Second Unit Director of Camera/Previsualization on Netflix's "Next Gen "highlighted his ability to blend technical skills with creative storytelling, contributing significantly to the project's success.

He is currently a Senior Previs  Artist at The Third Floor studio in Los Angeles, where he continues to influence major cinematic projects with his expertise in previsualization. Additionally, he serves as a Previs Supervisor at a startup video game studio in Toronto. Here, he is pioneering efforts to integrate cinematic storytelling with interactive gaming, pushing the boundaries of traditional narrative techniques in the gaming industry.
